Interdisciplinary Pain Care Consultants, a division of Anesthesia Pain Care Consultants, Inc., continues to develop its services and expand its staff to meet the needs of the healthcare community. Among the professionals recently brought on staff is Fernando Branco, M.D., FAAPMR, a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician.
Dr. Branco attended school in his native Brazil where he decided early on that physical medicine and rehabilitation was a specialty that interested him a great deal. "I like the opportunity to work with the patient to help them improve," Dr. Branco said, noting that it is very gratifying to help a patient who has suffered for years with physical pain get better.
His experience at the Spine Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine prepared him to work with even the most complex cases. "We were getting some of the most difficult cases and the time I spent working with Dr. Barth Green and other physicians was a great experience," Dr. Branco noted.
He said his academic work as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation at the Spine Institute also broadened his professional experience. At 43 years-of-age, Dr. Branco said that he was ready to build his practice and work in Fort Lauderdale where he was already had his residence.
As he learned more about the interdisciplinary program at Anesthesia Pain Consultants, he felt he had found his new professional home. "I saw a lot of energy here and that there was a full team coming on board. It is apparent that this is developing as a center of excellence," Dr. Branco said.
