The 30th Annual FSARN Educational Conference, “Pearls of Wisdom” is right around the corner! Just to remind you, those dates are June 13-15, 2007. The conference will once again take place at the Airport Marriott in Orlando. We will kick off the conference the evening of the 113th with early registration and reception to include drinks and appetizers from 6-9pm.
Both Thursday and Friday will be filled with exciting speakers and topics. Reminder…if you own your own set of pearls, bring them! Hint…Pearls get you in the door but your own pearls get you more!
I am looking forward to hearing our keynote speaker, Priscilla Smith-Trudeau MSM RN BSN CRRN CCM. Priscilla is President of Wealth in Diversity Consulting in Vermont and will be talking about resilience and what assets we will need to not just survive but to ‘thrive’ with the constant changes in healthcare. Priscilla is also the author of the book, the ‘Peaceful Warrior Nurse’.
We have a great line-up of speakers that are from near and far as well as different backgrounds and clinical arenas.
Some of the other topics this year will include interventional pain management, new treatment strategies for Parkinson’s Disease, latest research on Spinal Cord Injury, reattachment and revascularization surgery, treatment of shoulder pain and injuries, ethical and moral dilemmas in our practice settings, neurogenic bladder treatment options, sign and symptoms of elder and disabled abuse, the rehabilitation nurse’ role in disasters and easing the pain of the 75/25.
We are also planning an evening event for Thursday after the conference. As always, this is a great time to sit back and relax with old friends or new acquaintances. Activities, prizes and raffles will certainly accompany the evening of good food and drink.
