Legislation issues highlight meeting in Washington D.C.

Rehab Pros Set for DC


Armed with a new management company, new energy and a great venue, the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) has its sights set on Washington D.C. for the 2007 conference.

The conference will be held April 27-29 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C. and, in keeping with the location, there will be concurrent sessions regarding current federal legislation and programs. There will also be sessions with information on social security programs. Attendees can anticipate to be undated on life care planning, case management, disability management and forensics.

As of Dec. 1, 2006, IARP moved to its new management company, The center for Association Growth (TCAG) in Glenview, IL. New staff is on board. With thanks to the former management company for all its work, IARP is looking forward to new energy with TCAG.

After half day workshops on April 26, the conference will move into full swing on April 27 with a general session keynote presentation by Dr. James R. Harding who is with the Florida Department of Education in the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. As an individual who is also a quadriplegic Dr. Harding also brings his perspective as an advocate and community leader.
