Company Celebrates
Ten Year Anniversary,
And Looks to Future
AccessOnTime celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year, reaching the milestone by serving clients in transportation, travel and language services with high standards and ethical practices, according to company President Mel Nehleber.
"Our clients can see what we do every day. If they want to stop in and visit our offices, see our processes and procedures in action, they are welcome anytime," Nehleber told the Voice Newspaper in a recent interview. He added that this full-disclosure approach combined with meeting our customers in their operational model, has positioned AccessOnTime to continue to grow despite the challenges in today's economy.
Transportation companies in workers' compensation have been hit by high gasoline prices and an economic slowdown that has put many people out of work across the country. The trend is likely to continue as fuel costs are not likely to come down and unemployment appears to continue to rise in the near term.
"We are going to be there for our customers and that means we will continue to re-invent ourselves, look for better ways to serve our clients and keep building and renewing relationships," Nehleber said. Technology will help streamline the reporting procedures and the managing of accounts, and AccessOnTime's in-house technology system continues to be updated and improved, he emphasized.
“We are very passionate about what we do.
I like to talk to everybody I can in the industry.”
Nehleber understands that the infrastructure in his company is important, but that people get the job done. "We are very passionate about what we do. I like to talk to everybody I can in the industry. I want to know their challenges and want to learn about ways we can improve our services," he said. "We have very high employee retention and we work hard to keep good people," he added.
The belief in communication extends beyond the company as Nehleber meets with adjusters and case managers to learn what their needs are and to help provide them with information that they need to know about the services he provides.
"We want to educate them about the differences between companies like ours which provide a high level of service, accountability and responsiveness and companies that are not dedicated to the industry," Nehleber stated. He added that the commitment extends to the comprehensive insurance program AccessOnTime has in place to assure coverage for our clients, their injured worker's and our company.
Surprisingly, he noted that some adjusters aren't happy with the fuel surcharge that the company has instituted. "We put it off, even when gas prices were rising but now that it has gone to three times what it was several years ago, it is unavoidable. Whether we have a surcharge or update our rates, the network providers are absolutely passing these costs across through their invoices. We are proactive and need to continue to be a financially viable organization so we will always be there for our customers."
Though AccessOnTime and other transportation and language services companies have been providing services in the work comp system for years, Nehleber believes that there is still a need to educate adjusters, risk managers and case managers about "what, why and how we do it, and what should be the deciding factors for utilizing our company to provide these services."
As AccessOnTime moves into a second decade, the challenges continue but Nehleber indicated that he was looking forward to the challenges. "You can't sit on what you have done. Part of our mantra is to recognize changes and keep pace with them."
