The outgoing CMSA President was referring to the first of its kind CMSA award gala held during the conference to recognize outstanding leadership.
Catherine Morris, RN, was named Case Manager of the Year (CMOY). The other top award, Award of Service Excellence (AOSE) was presented to Beverly Stanley Overbey, RN, of Richmond, VA.
Chapter awards were designated in the following areas: Chapter Educational Programs, Central Virginia Chapter; Membership Development, Greater Grand Rapids / Kalamazoo Chapter; Best Use of Internet Technology, Case Management Society of Arizona; Chapter Conferences, CMSA Charlotte Metro Chapter; Best Use of Print Media, Case Management Association of Las Vegas; Public Policy and Advocacy, CMSA NYC.
The evening was presented as an Oscar Award type of event, with a sit-down dinner, the red carpet treatment and music and dancing. In past years the awards came during general session.
